Ultra Clean BTU Conversion with E-GasTM Technology at Wabash

  • The Wabash Project represents the culmination of a two-decade effort, which included a $1 billion investment in research and development by The Dow Chemical Company, to produce the next generation of entrained flow gasification technology.
  • Global Energy purchased the Wabash Project and the Dow gasification technology in 1999. Under its ownership Global Energy optimized the Wabash operations and the technology, rebranding it E-Gas Technology.
  • The Wabash facility is one of only two Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) facilities in the United States according to the U.S. Department of Energy. The Wabash Project has been recognized as the world's cleanest coal-based power plant.
  • In 2005, Global Energy invited Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA), an electric cooperative headquartered in Indiana, to join Wabash River Energy, Ltd., in a JV, SG Solutions LLC, to own and operate the Wabash facility.
